Do you decant cheap versions into branded packaging?

Just wondering, and if so why.

If I have a much more practical container for something (branded or not) I might decant it, but in general I can't see any point, and luckily hubby couldn't care less what we have or what it's packaged in!
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.

No, cos that would mean I had the branded versions to decant into :rotfl:

No, but I do decant something's onto plain things. Like liquid soap (which I dislike but my resident parent prefers) and hand cream. I would not decant into other branded bottles, but decanting into plain ceramic ones is fine by me.

I put liquid soap into a dispenser that I've got, but wouldn't put Sainsbury's bubble bath into a Moulton Brown bottle, for example.

I buy things that I'm happy with, I'm not bothered with what others might think about it.

  • Quite the opposite! my mum bought me a nice hand soap and lotion set in a little wire stand last year from Tesc0 and I've been filling it with Rad0x/D0ve etc all year :rotfl:

    There's always one!

No, I haven't bothered either but then again as no one visits I don't need to impress anyone. And I'm not sure it bothers anyone that I would know.

No I don't do that. Wouldn't think to do it either.

I do however decant into ceramic soap dispensers and then I use cream bath rather than liquid soap. If anyone was to ask I'd say it was cream bath.
  • With my ex, I would decant Basics ketchup into a Heinz squeezy bottle, unwrap butter, take cornflakes out of the box, that kind of thing - because he would throw anything away that looked like 'someone poor bought them'.

  • Nope. I only decant stuff to make it more useful.

I only decant nail varnish remover to a different bottle cos it's better suited for soaking nails in it's lid than the bottle I buy. And I decant baby shampoo into a hand soap dispenser as it's used for hand soap.
