New washing machine not dispensing softener

Hello all,

I had a new washing machine delivered yesterday. I did my first load this morning and realised afterwards that the machine did not take the softener from the drawer. I pulled out the draw and checked that nothing was blocking it. I have replaced it and done another load and the same thing has happened.
Anybody have any ideas what could be the problem. the machine is a "hoover HNL 6166"

Thanks in advance

Could be a faulty valve, SD lever or just a naff moulding in the drawer.

As it's under warranty though get the engineer in.

When I bought a washing machine (Bosch) you had to do a certain setting of wash to start off with before it would let you do 'real washes' like those with a conditioner. I don't know anything about Hoover machines and if there is nothing in the instructions about a certain first wash I doubt it would apply in this case. Check if there is a help section in the manual about this problem.
  • Hi I have a HOOVER VHD814 1400RPM I am having the problem of the conditioner not getting used too. It has been like it for about a month on and off it is usually mixed with water which should happen anyway it is just not draining it into the wash. I am waiting for my wash to finish so Hubby can have a look. I am reluctent to call them out (even though it is under warrenty as I called them out 3wks ago as the wash would not drain all the time and would stop in mid cycle. It cost us £50 because it was OUR fault hair clips and money was found in the pipe and around the drum a very expensive lesson now learnt!

    Thanks

  • I had the same problem, the machine just needed to be levelled by adjusting the feet.

    Hope this works

A fix at no cost - the best money saving. I hope the manufacturer outlines this in the manual as it seems a common problem judging by these posts.
