Praise for: Identity & Passport Service

renewed passport by returning printed form directly back to them (avoiding £7rip off Post Office application 'checking and fast tracking' service) by 2nd class post on 11th December.

My new passport was securely delivered this afternoon (Sunday 23rd Dec) by private courier service and that was using the bog standard "no frills" delivery return option as I was not in a hurry to receive new passport.

Total turnaround time was 12 calendar days, is not bad at all, December must be a quiet time of the year at the Passport Office!

I am impressed! Well done and kudos to the Identity & Passport Service!

I would also like to say WELL DONE to the passport office.

I posted my application to renew my passport on 18th December , at 11am. It was delivered to The Passport Office on Wednesday morning.

This morning, Christmas Eve, my new passport was delivered, again, by private courier, which seems to be standard service.

    My turn around was 6 days :T :T :T

It's when people suddenly check their passport 2 weeks before jetting off to Benidorm to find It's out of date, is when the fun n games start.
just passing through.... Nothing to see....
  • Correct LimeLight.

My passport did not actually expire until 14th September 2013. I knew it could be renewed 9 months before expiry.

I tried to book AirAsia flights for the beginning of April 2013 and the site would not allow me to as it said my passport needed to be valid for 6 months beyond my period of stay.
So all set to book flights now. :j
  • There'll be an article in the Daily Mail pretty soon then, criticising the overstaffing and waste at the Identity and Passport Office.

ive had trouble with passport office they would not renew grandsons passport. He was 15 and his mother applied to renew using papers from court giving permission. (she's divorced from his father).
they would not accept paperwork although they issued passport for younger son who lives with father using same paperwork.
They say they do not have to give her refund for fee paid!
So no passport and no money!
Thats our wonderful country for you!!!

its usually 2 weeks anyway, they only say 3 weeks to cover themselves.

it only becomes an issue mid july - mid august.

I recently changed my name and I only got 9 months extra. Not fair :-(
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!
