Sadly my Father in Law died 7 weeks ago .We have the property up for sale and his own home insurance has run out.
Any advice on how we go about re-insuring his now vacant property?
Thank you .

Ring an insurer.
Walk into an insurance broker's office.
Retain the existing insurer.
Make sure they know the property is unoccupied.0 -

Best (easiest) way is to get the existing insurers to do you a favour until its sold. Policyholder usually needs to be changed to 'Estate of ...' or 'Executors of ...'. If the policy has actually ended this may no longer be an option.0

The existing insurer may agree to continue cover but if the policy has already lapsed you may want to look at another provider.
Maybe try
