Drontal & weight question

I've just given our dog one Drontal Plus XL worming tablet.
It states these are for dogs weighing 35kg. I thought he was 35.25kg the last time he got weighed at the vets but OH thinks I'm mistaken and he weighed 32.25kg.
I will phone the vet tomorrow to check as the weight is always registered on his file, but in the meantime, I'm a bit worried.
What's the worst that could happen if the tablet was too strong? Would 3kg weight difference matter?

I wouldn't have thought 3kg would make too much of a difference when they cover such a range any. E.g. the regular Drontal Plus, it's one tablet per 10kg - so a 20kg, 25kg and 29kg dog would have the same dose.
If you have some bathroom scales, weigh yourself (or your OH) then stand on the scales while holding the dog, and subtract the first weight from the second, it's not as accurate as a vet scale but if your scales are alright it should give a good idea.0 -
Infact, the Drontal Plus page here says to give the XL for dogs over 30kg

And the dosage guidelines as per manufacturer

Drontal Plus XL Flavour Tablets
17.5 kg body weight = ½ tablet
>17.5 - 35 kg body weight = 1 tablet
>35 - 52.5 kg body weight = 1 ½ tablets
>52.5 - 70 kg body weight = 2 tablets0 -
I was told by a vet not to worry to much as you can't really overdose on wormer. My friends bought a puppy which had alot of worms, vet advised a higher dose than usual everyday for a week!0

Thank you both. After the first initial 'oh heck' panic, I was relieved to read that it wasn't as bad as all that.
He's been fine all day so I expect if anything untoward was going to happen, it would have done so by now.Herman - MP for all!
