Please advise if I am correct or If the store is?

Hi all

jist of my story is that I went to purchase TESCO finest oak smoked gammon joint that has been on offer in store for few weeks (and promo labels earlier in week advertised at half price as I bought one prior to today).
The offer was not shown on the shelf, however I remembered the date had shown past christmas.I enquired and the youth was very helpful but said he was unsure about the offer and that customer services conter had advised him that unless I had proof of the offer they couldn't do anything. My receipt from earlier in week only showed gammon joint (not which one or offer price) so I went on phone internet and showed them it was still currently advertised online at half price until 25th.
The customer service lady didn't know what to do but the counter manager came and said the offer must have been withdrawn and I should read the smallprint (of which there was none and I print screened it when I got home)

Was he wrong? I travelled to that store as the 1st one where I'd spent £150 had run out of the gammon

sorry for such a long post- advice please?

many thanks

I was under the impression that an offer can be withdrawn in store at anytime - although it is showing online. As is the opposite, an offer might be in store but not necessarily online.
Did the product have a price label on the shelf.
  • they can withdraw an offer at any time, unless there was a price label there at the time of purchase you cant really do a lot unfortunately.
if there was a price label at the time, and you think you were overcharged at the time then contact customer services and explain when it was and maybe scan and email the receipt. they will have on record when that barcode was on offer and will be able to do something to refund you if you were overcharged on that particular date.

Clothes Golden Rule: Never pay full price unless it is an utter bargain in the first place!
Sales, boots, charity shops, ebay- why would anyone ever pay full price for anything??!
