ebay on free listing weeks
eBay is wrong for selling collection-only items
It's an extra venue to try that's all. I know a few people who do well with their 'shabby chic' listings and I have bought a few pieces of furniture from ebay sales myself so I thought it worth suggesting.0 -
Like Annie, I have found eBay a lucrative marketplace for household bulky and/or delicate collection items. I've obtained much higher prices on eBay than I ever would have on gumtree or at any car boot sale... and I'd rather be in bed early on a Sunday morning, than carting furniture to an airfield and selling it to dealers for 10% of its value!
When listing collection items, I always cover the inappropriateness of paying by Paypal and collecting in the listing description, which moves the scammers on to a better opportunity... actually I've found overseas buyers more problematic than collection items."The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.
...If you can fake that, you've got it made."
