Merry Christmas to all you savers and investors

As the title says - hope you all have a magical Xmas, and an even more magical New Year (take note, Mark Carney )

I'd like to say a big fat Thank You to so many people on here who have contributed - sometimes controversial - ideas and suggestions, many of which were new, and very helpful, to myself.

  • And to you Innovate. I'm not a huge poster on this board but, like you say, it helps with ideas etc.

    Happy Christmas all.

    Hear hear.

As a busy guy scrolling down pages of people on some of the MSE boards splattering smileys all over their posts, giving each other virtual hugs and all that stuff, sharing sympathy rather than solutions, I have to admit to having been a bit of a Scrooge on occasion and just clicking past in a bored fashion.

See, I'm usually more of a cold-hearted practical fella, and like to think of myself as someone who'll simply come out and offer the right answer when he has it, lurk to learn the right answer if he doesn't, or engage in good-natured debate where there's no such thing as a right answer (which is most of the time for this particular board...)

But actually MSE and this board in general seems to have a decent mix of people freely giving both practical and emotional support, and even the trolls provide some laughs from time to time - it's just what you want out of an internet community. This year my lifetime posts per day went through 0.05 to the heady heights of 0.06 ; next year, who knows!
Merry Christmas to you and yours

Ditto. I couldn't cope without the informative posts on this site.
  • Bah Humbug, there are far too many people hitting that thanks button. This is the season of austerity, we're all in this together you know, (but some are in it more than others) :D
Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year to one and all.

I heard a rumour that it was the end of the world on Friday, did anything happen ?

    Bah..Humbug..
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

innovate is always very generous with her thanks. I think she likes to 'spread the lurve' :p

As for us 'we're all in this together' - I believe that slightly less than I believe Santa will be climbing down my chimney with a sackful of presents for me tomorrow night. However, if he does I'll give serious consideration to putting my X in Gideon's box next time around ;)

I did my Tesco shop on Friday - almost as apocalyptic
