Maybe with a bit of public commitment I'll manage to actually do something

this week im going to take it easy enjoy the good weather and have given myself and the kids a budget of £10 for icecreams and treats out.i have been spending too much on soft play areas and treats so this is a real challenge. this week i hav planned free days out with friends to the park and seaside paddling pool... will pack a picnic and some lollies! yesterday i rang sky and got a 30% reduction in our bill plus free kids channels for a year..., this has been on my to do list for weeks! also got new home insurance with accidental damage for the same price as renewal quote without the extra so v well pleased.im the sort of person who sticks with the same policies year after year so this was major....this site is a great motivational tool. hope everyone doing well and taking time for themselves too!No more toys til Xmas 2022 , mfw 2023 challenge , Trying to not waste food , time or money and appreciate the moment more!0

Done it :T
Painted the new bathroom and shower room and cleaned them both out - wanted to do it last week but managed to finish it yesterday.
This week I want to:- pack up my clothes ready for my move,
- my ex is doing the skirting in my bedroom and should be finished tomorrow - so I will have to clean the bedroom, instal the bed and the wardrobe.
- buy some lighting for the bedroom and bathroom - as cheap as possible!
- move two of the shelving units meant for the kitchen from old flat to new flat

Ive done ok this week, Ive managed plenty of sewing time and have made a patchwork cushion for my sons room and he loves it.
The yoghurt turned into gloopy horrible lumpy stuff :rotfl:
And I walked the dog 6 days out of 7 which I thought was ok
This weeks
I want to make a stitch chart for my sewing machine.....it has 26 different stitches and even tho there is a diagram of each one the stitches never look like there supposed to. So this will save loads of time.
Continue to walk the dog.....weather permitting
CROSS STITCH ....I haven't done any this week because ive been sewing. The problem I have is that I love to sew and to stitch but trying to do both is nearly impossible. So ive thought I would do sewing one week and stitching the next. I even tho I love cross stitch and needlework it takes forever to do. So this week is cross stitch and boy I have a lot to do.
Welcome to the newbies to the thread, always good having fresh blood.
Love everyones updates and new challenges keep the coming. Its half way thru the year  and weve all done great :TI'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!JUST LOVES THE O/S BOARD0 -
Am cream crackered this week after the BIG MOVE!
But I am now living alone for the first time in eight years and even then it was only for about 2 months. So is a little stange and I have one of those houses that sounds alive. Lots of creaking  hope I'm not haunted:o
Anyway this week have taken stock of all my food and meal planned all my dinners.
Will also carry on tidying and getting everything sorted.
Challenge for the week is getting my washing room sorted. The washing machine needs to be connected and I do not have a dryer so will need to hang some wires for drying and I will put some shelves up for storage of cleaning products etc!
Good luck with your challenges everyone :T:T:TMortgage March 2013: [STRIKE]£55,956 [/STRIKE]£38,500 (aim to pay off by 2020)

if at first.....I'm glad the move went well and I'm sure you'll settle in quickly and get it just how you want it........I can see many new challenges arising from this
This weeks challenges:
My gym buddy is in New York for the next seven daysso I need extra motivation. I plan to go to the gym after the school run in the morning on Thursday (tomorrow), Tuesday and Wednesday for an hour each time.
I want to walk over 10,000 steps per day
I'm not go to snack anymore its three meals a day and that is that.
For the next 7 days I'm not going to buy any craft items, any magazines or toiletries. come to think of it I shouldn't need to buy anything for the next seven days.
And my on-going challenges:
I'm still stitching away at my cross stitched stain glass windows I've set myself a dead line of the end of July to get this completed.
and I'm in the midst of making a baby quilt for my friend who's expecting.I'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!JUST LOVES THE O/S BOARD0 -

so I need extra motivation. I plan to go to the gym after the school run in the morning on Thursday (tomorrow), Tuesday and Wednesday for an hour each time. I MANAGED TO STICK TO THIS SOMEHOW
I want to walk over 10,000 steps per day. NEARLY EVERYDAY APART FROM SUNDAY WHEN I DID JUST OVER 1000
I'm not go to snack anymore its three meals a day and that is that. IM GUILTING OF SNACKING 3 OUT OF FIVE DAYS BUT IN MY DEFENCE I SNACKED ON APPLES AND ORANGES
For the next 7 days I'm not going to buy any craft items, any magazines or toiletries. come to think of it I shouldn't need to buy anything for the next seven days. FAILED DISMALLY ON TOILETRIES, BUT I DID GET SOME LOVELY ALOE VERA MOISTURISER
And my on-going challenges:
I'm still stitching away at my cross stitched stain glass windows I've set myself a dead line of the end of July to get this completed. DID LOTS OF STITCHING
and I'm in the midst of making a baby quilt for my friend who's expecting. DID AS MUCH AS I COULD JUST WAITING TIL PAYDAY FOR MORE SUPPLIES
right now ive admitted to having a pretty bad week at challenges this week is a fresh start.
This week im setting myself a challenge of finding new recipes. I need to eat more fish and rice.
Im also making a lemon drizzle cake for the summer fayre........really rubbish at cakes so we shall see.
Walking and gym and step ups......continued
And of course my ongoing challenge......cross stitichI'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!JUST LOVES THE O/S BOARD0 -
Winnie - looks like you did pretty well on your challenges! :T:T:T:T
Finally got all the furniture moved - took a bit longer that I had hoped but it is done and my washing room is sorted.
However... I think my washing machine is insane. I have to sit on it otherwise when spinning it travels around the room. I tried putting some weight on it but that didn't really work - it needed something heavier - me in other words. Not sure how I am going to sort this one out - I think the motor is too powerful for the weight of the machine.
So my challenges are:
Find a solution for the bouncy washing machine
Unpack boxes and put everything in its place
Clean my patio (currently full of rubbish)Mortgage March 2013: [STRIKE]£55,956 [/STRIKE]£38,500 (aim to pay off by 2020)

Emergency fund: €1,000 / €2,0000
