did a quote with Money supermarket for car insurance. On a 1.9 skoda fabia vrs special edition 2007 car for a 18 year old (when I did the quote, cheapest was £3002, with someone on the quote as a named driver.
This was 2 weeks ago when I was 18, just turned 19, did the quote today where the new ruling has come in r.e insurance prices for men and women where insurance companies can't use gender as a way to determine the price, same details on quote, cheapest quote came to £2237! Nearly an £800 price difference compared to a few weeks ago!
Has anyone done quotes themselves to see any major differences?

Put down your 18 again and it will probably be £3200 again.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

It was interesting that on the news over the last couple of days they have been predicting 30-40% increases for female drivers and 10% reductions for males!
It's a bit like energy prices, where the decreases never seem to match the increases0 -
A barmy ruling that's just going to see a spike in their profits0

Again as said the fact that your age is now 19 and not 18 is probably the reaon for the reduction0

The sooner we leave the EU the better, lunatic dictatorship that it is.0

As this is a clunky change on the merits of gender equality, what about all the other tiny "discriminations" like those that have had a no-fault accident are acturarily "likely" to have another one so their premiums go up, or living in a city centre where your banger is treated as gold and likely to be more of a target. Classic EU, "watch us burning your money", garbage.0
