fuzzy wuzzy printing

Does anybody know anything about printers.
I have a Brother MFC-4820C, as I need a fax and scanner. The print quality has got poor. I always use the correct inks etc.
I begrudge getting a new one as I have about £50 quids worth of ink cartridges.
Is there any way I can improve the print quality.
I only need it for ordinary printing, not photos.

Thanks in anticipation

Have you tried cleaning the print head? There should be an option for it in your printer utilities. You might be able to replace the print head depending on the printer (not sure about Brothers) if that doesn't work.
  • Thanks for that, will rake out the manual etc and have a go.
