  • I hope everyone had a lovely christmas.:xmassmile

I'm up at my brothers again waiting on my dad finishing work to take me through to Edinburgh tonight before I fly to Ireland tomorrow morning. We are taking my car and I need to get petrol I have £40 from my budget set aside however my dad said he might pay it which would be great as he's driving the car back tonight. If he does then that at least means I'll be slightly better off for January and also save petrol as I found out I'm only in 4days in January!!! :shocked:I can't believe it. This means my wage at the end of January will be £234.75 if they include a holiday I'm due  I might be able to get a extra day or two as one of the girls has holidays to take. My brother said he'd help me out if I need it in February. I'm also not sure if I should speak to my boss when I return. We should have another dentist by February so my hours should return to normal but I'm still stressing about it.

So it looks like January will be a month of e*bay and I might start making more jewellery to sell online which I do occasionally but it might be an idea to really push it this month. I'm also going to have a look at my outgoings again and see where I can cut back but will do this once I've returned from Ireland and all the DD have come out of my account.

It looks like its going to be a tight a even tighter month and my brothers maybe seeing a lot more of me if only to use their electric and heating.:rotfl:

I hope everyone has a lovely new year!!

  • So I'm home! I had a lovely New Year and hope everyone else did too.

Today I have mainly spent sleeping on the sofa after such a long journey yesterday and a early rise this morning. Feeling so much better although I do have a sore throat :(

Today was my first spend of the year I had to buy some basics for coming home too since I had nothing in. I didn't do too badly I bought a lovely pât! reduced to 45p which I have been munching away at. Even the dog had a little in her kong to keep her busy.

I have added 40p to my 20p saver challenge bringing my total to £2.20. I also received a letter from the council regarding my council tax. They have reduced the amount I owe them by £811.88!!!:j:j:j
I also received a cheque from farepak which i had received a month or so ago which was sent out to my late mother I sent back the relevant documents for the cheque to be change to my name and was happy to see £200.00 waiting for me when I arrived home this evening. This will go pay my council tax debt so I'll only need to get in touch with them about the February payment.

I also managed to come back with euros. Still have €100 on the card and €30 in my purse which I think is pretty good going. Going to shop around for the best deal to exchange it back to £s and plan on keeping this aside for my trip to Edinburgh on the 19th. I'm going through for my birthday, the hotel and train were booked before finding out how awful my hours this month would be.

Planning on going to the gym tomorrow then picking up BF and having a quiet night in.

  • Today is looking like my first NSD since coming back from Ireland. :j

Yesterday I bought a few more groceries including some fish cakes reduced to 40p a packet so I bought 2. I also picked up some food I had taken to my brothers for Christmas lunch and which was just going to sit in the freezer as they won't use it. So I should be fine for food for the week or so if I meal plan which I should really do later on.

Not really much else to report, I have a lot of change to take to the bank this week and I should pull my finger out and get eb*ying and also make a to do list for all the little jobs needing completed around the house.

  • It's been a quiet week for me. Was working on Thursday, managed to park for free so no spend there but bought a tin of soup and a roll for lunch but I didn't eat them as BF met me for lunch and treated me to soup :) so managed to keep my soup and roll for the next day.

It's been a quiet weekend as well bought some groceries and I sold another item on ebay another £100 hooray!:j the sale has really lifted a weight off my shoulders. I'm going to put it into the bank tomorrow and I'm going to move it into a savings account and wait and see where I stand money wise on payday. Thankfully my hours should be back to normal in the next few weeks as they have found another dentist woo. Can't wait to be back at work!

Off to watch the darts final :)

  • It's been a quiet month for me debt busting and work wise although I managed to pick up 2 extra days and made sure I was getting paid holidays for the 3rd and 4th when I was in Ireland.

Yesterday I was paid and my boss texted me asking me to do a extra day next week and told me how much I was paid. It's more than I had thought it would be so I'm quite pleased, I spoke to my boss the other week when it looked like I would only be getting paid for 3days as I was so stressed. I don't think she realised how little I was in work and I told her I really need more hours as my out goings are much more than I have coming in. She was really nice and offered to advance my wages. I told her thanks but I don't want to be catching up next month especially when I'm only in 5days in February unless the new dentist starts soon.

It was also my birthday on Monday! My BF treated me to a meal and a couple of drinks as well as giving me an amazing gift. He is taking me to Dublin in March to see Willy Mason then we'll head down to Birr for a few days before returning home. I can't believe he has done something like this as we aren't really big gift givers and he isn't very romantic lol. Everything is booked I just have to get my days off. :)

My car is in the garage today as its not well hoping its only something minor and doesn't cost the earth. :( Should know by lunch fingers crossed its nothing serious.

Though I would try a to do list to keep me motivated especially on my day off. I can be so lazy as its just me and the dog. Lol.

    List clothes on eb*y
    Clean kitchen
    Declutter living room
    Cut fringe
    Post a parcel
Take change to bank ( will do this on Friday as bank is next to work)
    Take meter reading
