    If total assetts are over approx 13k then I think the answer is yes

    You cannot delete the thread, but if you press edit, then advanced, you can delete the title and replace with it with 'deleted thread.'

    The reason you cannot delete the thread is because you would be deleting other people's posts, and you don't have the right to do that.
