Vue Cinema prebooked tickets and DD. Help!

DD is going to the cinema tomorrow with her best friend, as she's seeing The Hobbit (again!) I've booked her VIP Seats online with my card.

Now, problem lies in the fact that between booking and now I've broken my big toe. My foot is bruised and strapped in a shoe and I'm on crutches, so my initial plan to come in and collect the tickets is most definitely out.

I've tried calling Vue customer services and go round in circles of automated machines. I'm assuming she can use the auto collect machines but when I went to the same cinema last weekend they were out of order.

I'm thinking I'm going to have to give her my CCard to take with her but I wondered if anyone else had come across a similar issue or if Vue will just hand over her tickets without hassle?

They have machines where you can collect pre booked tickets. All you have to do is put your card in, that's it. I imagine they will be fixed by now, if they were broken last weekend.

If not I'm sure they will give your DD the tickets, maybe write a letter to accompany the CC, saying you give her permission to collect them on your behalf.

I wouldnt worry too much about it.

Yep, those were the ones that were all out of order last weekend, and I'd be amazed if they were working tbh. The toilets have been broken for 7 months according to the lad outside our screen last weekend so 'don't expect anything fixed soon'

If the machines are working then she will be ok with your cc, if they are not then she will have problems.

Try calling again. If no luck I can only suggest you write an authorisation letter for her, print out your internet confirmation, give her some ID and hope for the best! Good luck.

I think I'll go with the letter and get OH to take us both up, that way I can stay in the car while she picks up her tickets and if there are any issues I suppose I can just about make it that far.

    Bah!! Kids!!! lol

Just to say I hope you are feeling better soon!!

I feel your pain, as I spent last christmas in plaster from toe to knee, ( after breaking my ankle the day before christmas eve!)

then to cap it all off,the first time on crutches I pulled a stomach muscle and couldn't use them again!!

OH spent christmas eve frantically trying to hire a wheelchair !!

Mind you, thinking back it does have its advantages, ie: getting everyone else to do the running round, as you really have to rest
with your foot up to avoid swelling !!! ;)

Wishing you a great christmas, and I hope your DD enjoys her film:)
  • Try pressing 0 when you telephone their automated service, I was advised to do this by a member of staff .....

Whenever I've gone to view, all I've done is shown them the confirmation email on my iPhone and the number, I think in the subject, was enough.

If their phone is capable of that, try it, or print out the order confirmation if you can.
