  • No. I seem to remember it starting on Boxing Day.
Love saving, but not sure I'm doing it right!

Did it start instore on Christmas Eve too?

Think they do it then online as it won't arrive until after Christmas.
  • Can't wait! Couldn't remember if it started christmas eve or not last year :S I remember it crashing every 5 minutes and i eventually managed to checkout 3 separate times. Got loads for christmas presents last year so very happy :) Also i remember the 75% off sale starting in stores around 17th january :)
  • I am waiting for the 75% off sale again. All of the gift sets/toilet bag sets I am giving out this Christmas were picked up in that! I too think it was around the 17th, a little later than other years. They kept us in suspense!

It is showing my Boots points, so hopefully I can use them online this year!!

I have always been able to see my Boots points online but didn't know you can now use your points to spend online.

    Taken from their website:
How do I spend my points?
You can spend your points any time on almost anything in store and get that wonderful 'I've paid with my points feeling'. When you get to the till, just hand over your Advantage Card and let the cashier know you would like to pay with points. You'll need the full amount of points for the product you choose. For example 199 points will pay for a product priced at £1.99. The total price in points will then be taken from your Advantage Card
You can spend your points on Boot.com by selecting whether to pay for a product with points or £s when viewing products in your basket.
If you would like to buy a range of products from www.boots.com but only have enough points to cover the cost of one of the items you can do the following:
    1. Move the items you would like to pay for in £s to 'Purchase Later', this option is in a drop down menu next to each item in your basket.
    2. Select pay with points for the item you would like to pay for with your Advantage Card points.
    3. If you have enough points on your Advantage Card account you can choose whether you pay for your delivery with points or £s, we will highlight all your delivery options that you can pay for with Advantage Card points. If you have spent £40 or over you will qualify for our free delivery service.
    4. You can then go onto Purchase later and buy your remaining items with £s.
To spend points on boots.com you must first register your Advantage Card. You must have enough points on your Advantage Card account to cover the cost of the products you wish to purchase. You will need a permanent Advantage Card to be able to spend your points, to sign-up for a permanent Advantage Card go to sign-up now. You cannot spend Advantage Card points with our third party retailers, including Treat Street and Boots Kitchen Appliances.

Do the improvements mean we don't get stuck on a page watching the skeletal orange woman gurning away? It wouldn't be the Boots sale without Tango Skeletor.

I don't think the website has improved much TBH and expect she will put in some appearances :D
  • I'm working Christmas eve so will miss the smiling lady on the holding page, the several hundreds of attempts to purchase while the website crashes, the getting to checkout when the basket empties!

My husband is lucky, I've left him a list so HE gets to do it this year!
  • Hello!

I've never purchased anything online when the 50% off sale goes live. Can I put stuff in my basket now ready to buy at 50% off?

    Thanks!x

You can put items in your Wish List before sale, then just transfer them to your basket when the sale goes live. That's what I always do. :)
