Its free delivery at moment at Thompson and Morgan. I've just ordered my seed potatoes, normally £4.95 postage for these. There's some good offers on seed potatoes too.
20 tubers of Charlotte only £2.99 saving £6.97 and free delivery.

  • I tend to get mine at my local ironmongers, which tend to come from local growers. My theory is that the ones produced locally stand a better chance with our bizarre weather system and they're so much cheaper than T&M. I normally buy 3lb bags of Epicures, Arran pilots and Maris Peers and get them for less than a tenner.

I would be concerned about locally sourced seed, unless they are certified. I agree that T & M are very overpriced ,worse now that they sell the potatoes per unit rather than by the KG. Any good garden centre should stock loose certified Scottish seed. You can pick through them and try one or two of different varieties. This year I paid £1.15 per kg, a fraction of the cost from T& M.
  • Free p&p extended until tomorrow (Tuesday). Their website is playing silly beggars though. The lady said they were experiencing difficulties, I just had to order on the phone. They did take off the p&p for me.

I've bought Yukon Gold and Charlotte plus some runner beans for 49p a pack! You can never have too many runner beans can you? ;)

Saved me own to make 2nd scotch. Thoroughly recommend Charlotte a large salad potato. Came out clean on my garden.Last year they were giving away Santa Mira and something else for the cost of delivery. Santa Mira (red) grows a bit like Desiree, slug resistant

Thank you - just the prompt I needed to place my potato order. I went for Lady Cristl (20 for £4.99) which were excellent for me last year as they resisted blight and slug damage when others failed. I also got the option to add 20 Setanta tubers for £1.99. They are a maincrop which I don't normally bother with, but at that price they might be worth a try if I can find the space.

Also got some dark red rudbeckia seeds 'Cherry Brandy' for 99p and added poppy 'seriously scarlet' which should have been £1.49 but were added free for some reason (excellent!) and then a duo pack of tomato seeds 'sweetest tomato duo' for my new greenhouse (£4.99). Then got carried away and added the apricot shades begonia tubers special offer for £1.99. They are not my cup of tea but I will pot them up for my mother-in-law who will love them.
