Friday 21st December - What small DFW things will you be doing today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:
Morning everyone
Weather looks much brighter here already today, yay! Today I will;
- Check online banking
- Swagbucks (already over target for today!)
- Go to mums for lunch
- Pick up a prescription
- See the boyfriend tonight
- Washing on and hang out to dry
Have a good day all x

Morning all, and thanks to katy_ann for starting us off today. DH still isn't back from the stones after celebrating the winter Solstice (we're just 12 miles from Stonehenge!)
My small things so far:- ran washing overnight on Economy 7
- DH showered on Economy 7 (at 2am!!)
- hung washing on airer
- fed and watered the chickens
- breakfast from stores
- checked banking - payday!
- paid cc bill
- moved money into bills account
- moved rest of salary into savings account until normal payday on 31st - that way I'm not tempted to use it all now and make January a looooong month
- check for surveys
- finish knitting one of DGD's Christmas present and start the next one
- collect DGD from school at 1.15
- take ingredients to DD's house and make two cakes there (one each) using her electricity
- dinner at DD's house
presents and a second cake tin
Catch up later,

Morning all
katy_ann - thanks for starting us off. Hope you are feeling a bit better today
Stitchy - my OH isn't back yet either, but at least yours has a good excuse, mine is just hungover somewhere (well at his mum's hopefully!!)
So is everyone ready for the apocalypse? I feel I should get dressed and showered. I don't want to be taken up in my onesie:eek: :rotfl:
Today's mission:
Cover all the truffles in chocolate. I have read so many things on tempering now I feel like my head could explode. Think the best plan is just go gung-ho and go for it!
Quite mild here so heating off
Payday so check online banking and pay bills
Update signature to match!
Ring companies to try and move dd date as pay dates changing. (see thread on banking forum) So far NatWest and npower very easy and helpful. Vodafone and United Utilities not so easy or helpful.
Might think of more as the day goes on, but now must crack on with chocolate bonanza. omnomnomnomnom!
Have a good day all!

Evening (where it is here) from sunny Thailand.
Picked up a 600 baht loan repayment. (Daily repayment from a local business owner.) I try to limit my spending to the amount I get off him each day and I have now gone six weeks with only one withdrawal (December rent) from my current account.;)
Sold a Thai antique to a collector for 1600 baht.
Visited the local auction hall to do a bit of pre planning before the auction tomorrow. I have made a list of what I will bid on checked the reserve prices as well as writing down the absolute highest price I will pay before withdrawing from the bidding process (it's so easy to get carried away).:)
Hopefully this time tomorrow I will be the owner of a high backed office chair (limit 1500 baht) a work station (limit 2500 baht) a Sony Viao netbook (limit 3500 baht) and a rather attractive oil painting (limit 400 baht)
Had a cheap afternoon in dividing it between the playstation, Internet and catching up on my reading, A day off can easily run into several days worth of wages spent.c
Prepared my English class for Sunday. I have a new private student and it's very important that the first lesson goes well.
Sent an email to an ex associate reminding him to repay a loan of 5000 baht I gave him in June. He claims to be penniless and I may not see the money again but I do like to let him know I haven't forgotten about it.
Tonight I will visit a local bar where they have a free buffet so I can have my evening meal for the price of a draught chang.0 -

Hi,
Today I'll be:
~Sanding old chopping board to make it usable again. Sandpaper from stores. £0.
~Painting second half of Study with paint left over from decorating Bedroom. £0.
~Cleaning up three frames to give artwork new lease of life. £0.
~Taking part in work Christmas lunch. Paid for by a friend. £0. I know it sounds ungrateful but I don't really want to go; I don't enjoy these occasions.
If my friend couldn't be so offended I would pull out at the last minute.
~Take blind back to Wilkinson. Damaged. I'm furious. They ordered it in for us and took longer than promised to get it. And OH forgot to inspect it on collection.

Well the onesie is still on and the apocalypse is currently AWOL.
Think this means I have time to do the housework too before the rapture
OH appeared and we've made the chocolates. We made FAR too many and apparently the chocolate didn't temper properly for about a third of the covered ones so we have lots left over that we can't give as gifts because they will bloom (oh dear, what a pity...;))
The tempering thing is crazy (I can see why it's called temper). I couldn't get the choc cool enough to temper but runny enough to dip things in
ps: does anyone know if I can set up savings pots with NatWest?LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310
