If your looking for "free" panels for your roof then ASG probably come out as one of the best providers for that service. Several of my neighbours have their panels and are more than happy.
Are you looking for "free" panels or are you looking at purchasing them yourself and taking advantage of the FIT? If so take a browse around the forum, there's bags of info on here.

If you've got time to spare, there's a long thread here - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/20727870

They(ASG) have also started a scheme for Central Heating boilers.
You pay a monthly payment - for 14 years - and they supply and maintain a combi gas boiler. Again a long thread on the scheme:

In short - if you have the cash up front, both these schemes are probably poor value for most.
If you don't, they may be useful, if you carefully read and understand all terms and conditions,0 -

Nevertheless they don't accept each other. They need that the panels should be fixed on south facing roofs or roofs within 55 degrees either side of due south. Also, they won’t fit on roofs that are overshadowed by trees or other objects as that will also affect the performance of the panels. There also has to be sufficient uninterrupted space for their panels – around 24sq meters. You need to be sure with all these conditions before.
Thanks.Read my blog for the best DIY solar panels tips0 -
If there is no catch here, this is great idea! As I've read from A Shade they claim that there is no any catch. But how is this company exist? What is the economic model behind it?

Hi,
There is no catch, everything is paid for by A Shade Greener and there are no charges to the customer.
The Feed-In-Tariff is what makes it possible for ASG to offer solar PV for free. The FIT pays those who generate electricity from a renewable resource to do so.
Once a system is installed a payment is guaranteed for the electricity it generates, in this way the panels are an investment on the part of ASG and a return will be made over many years.
ASG do not charge customers, as such all income is all based on what the solar panels generate and so each install must achieve a certain target to make it financially viable. Unfortunately this means ASG cannot install on every house and must select properties that are suitable.
There is a strict criteria that our survey team must check against every property when assessing if it is suitable. Examples of which are; roof area, direction it is facing, shading issue, etc.
Any questions just ask

The 'catch' for any 'Rent-a-Roof' firm like ASG(and it would appear that ASG are one of the best in the business) is that you have to sign an agreement('Lease') for 25 years. If sold that lease is binding on any new owner of the property.
Whilst ASG's agreement is legally acceptable to Bank and Building societies, there are reports on MSE and elsewhere on the web that people* with RaR PV panels have been refused a re-mortgage and prospective buyers have been refused a mortgage.
It is also a matter of conjecture if RaR panels are a positive or negative factor for any prospective purchaser.
* for all RaR companies - not specifically ASG.0 -

That is correct, the lease is for a period of 25 years and it tied to the property not the person. The property can be bought and sold as normal but the panels must remain there.
Last year there were a few sensationalised media reports that customers of some 'rent-a-roof' companies had been having trouble getting a re-mortgage. How much this can be attributed to the lease agreement and not other factors is debatable. Providing the lease that the panels are fitted under adheres to the guidelines set by the Council of Mortgage Lenders then there will be little issue.
A Shade Greener have worked hard to ensure that our lease will not be an issue when customers come to re-mortgage their property and we have not encountered any such problems to date.
Solar panels are down to personal taste and our experience has shown there is no shortage of those who would like to benefit from solar PV. Over 100 of our customers have sold their property with no issues reported. When selling a property with ASG or other RaR panels just be sure to give the details to potential buyers, as you will have seen the benefit of having them so too will others.“Official Company Representative

I have had my roof checked by A Shade Greener approx 12 months ago and it was approved as suitable and facing the correct way. At the time I never pursued it but I am now in a position to go ahead, however, I cannot get a number to call them on and when I try to contact via the web they say my roof isn't suitable!!!!!!
Does anyone have a contact number???
My neighbour already has panels installed and faces the same way as well !!!!0 -

If I was ASG, I would only be installing panels on roofs with appropriate slope, pointed from southsouthwest to southsoutheast, and with absolutely no shade, in the best solar output areas of the country.
Their returns are less due to the regulations than private individuals. It may be valid for someone else to install panels themselves on east or west facing roofs, but not for ASG.0
