How long is a piece of string ?!

Depends what you want to see, and how much you want to see it !

If you really have your heart set on a particular show, on a particular date (your visit), best to try getting them in advance, at full price, otherwise, your likely option when you get to London are West End agencies, which are often or touts with offices!

If you don't care too much what you see, and are more interested in just seeing a show in London and getting a bargain ticket, then when you come to London, visit the Half Price Ticket Booth in Leicester Square.

Every day, they have a random selection of tickets for random shows that evening only, that are not sold out. Most of these tickets are sold at half price. You can only buy by going in person to the Booth.

In the old days, you had to queue up, and then take your pick. But now they have a website, which tells you what they have for sale that day, which will save you a trip to find out if there is nothing you fancy !

As Fifo has said it really depends on what you want to see. Top price seats for top shows are around the £60 per person mark plus booking fee.

If you are looking to book a hotel as well then it is worth checking out companies that do a package including hotel and ticket. Show and stay are pretty good, Lastminute is worth a look as well.

Using the ticket booths in Leicester Square can work, it really is just your luck on the day. I have used them twice, first time I got great seats for Mary Poppins second time didn't get anything as they only had 5th price tickets for shows that I didn't want to see.

As Fifo has already said if it something you really want to see then you should really get them in advance to make sure you get them.

Lastminute.com have reduced more theatre tickets according to hotukdeal.com
    IT'S ALL ABOUT ME!!!:j:money:
  • I hate lastminute for theatre tickets. You cant find where you're seated before you pay and the cheap deals are sometimes "best avaliable up to face value of £55" on special at £10. However the best available could be the worst £20 ticket in the theatre! Some seats are so bad you wouldnt have wanted them if they were free!

Some shows can be seen half price. Just do a search on google. Many of the 'days out' threads have 2 for 1's if you show a railway ticket etc. Try - chiltern railways, special offers, 241 etc. You are unlikely going to find deals on really popular short run shows such as sound of music etc.
