Tax Credits for 1 year

Hi I have been getting Child tax credit £152 for 3 children since eligible, and this tax year from april 2012 we had working tax credits aswell as child tax credits as partner worked for 8 weeks, stopped in sept 2012 left with child tax credits.
now i have started working 16 hrs as my health conditions and i get low rate care for DLA. told tax credits got award notice today saying i will get £147 tax credits only, called them only to be told i have had the limit for tax credits for one tax year so remaining is £147 a week until april 2013.
it has all confused me as we had WTC for 8 weeks £89, so i don't understand and the calculator of benefits say i should be getting CTC £157 and WTC £129 as should have disability premium.
Please help me understand as its only me working 16 hrs Partner not employed yet and I'm Disabled.

What does your award letter actually say? Does it mention the disability part of WTC at all anywhere? If not, it may be that it has been missed off. Mistakes do happen. It's usually on the middle page - where it states which elements apply and how many days of the year it applies to. Are your working hours on there? Check the paperwork carefully. It does take a little while for it to become clear. Not the easiest of forms to read. Finally when you look on last page, it should state how much for the year is due, how much they have paid so far and how much they are due to pay and when. There may also be another amount that may state may be payable at renewal. They are very wary of overpayments now.0

I thought you needed to be getting middle rate or higher for it to impact WTC/16 hr rule. If i am right (may not be, just what they told me when i asked about mine) then you wouldn't be entitled to wtc as you are not doing 24 hrs xThe feeling i got when i confirmed my place studying criminology at Exeter Uni was brilliant!!!!!
The pride my children told me they had in me was even better!!!!! # setting positive example to children is OUTSTANDING!!!! !:grouphug::grouphug::smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea0 -

That's incorrect. For the disability element it is any level of DLA, for the severe disability element it is the higher rate care component of DLA.
I would check your award notice, see if the disability element is on, then check the payment section. Make an appointment with an adviser if you are unsure.

The only reason I cannot get the dis WTC element is because I only work 12 hours/ week under permitted work rules/max income. But not working at all at moment due to complicated leg infection and severe pain.0
