A door or a fridge? If you like your Honda, have a look at the Honda Stream. Huge and drives well. Timing chain so no belt to change. Get one with 100k for £2000. Mine is going strong with 116k.
Or looks the same but smaller, Honda Jazz. Toyota has the Verso MPV in various sizes as well.0 -
When I was looking for a car for my mother the Nissan Note was recommended. (She has at this point stuck with her Rav)0

A budget of £2,000? I very much doubt you will find a Roomster for that. Good luck on the car search.
You mention a Mark 3 golf, for your budget that's probably a sensible choice.0 -

Hey it is money saving, and this is Scrooge's time of the year, or in my case a penniless scrooge
Nissan, tried the Qashqai when it was released many years ago (in my fitter days) at the ideal home exhibition and I could not get into it easily. The windscreen roof pillow was of to a lower angle. Once inside my head was touching the roof. Think it was made for mostly women who have to look through the steering wheel spokes. One thing for sure I'd never need a sun visor.
Did like oldtoolies Honda Stream suggestion. While searching for them came accross a crv.
I actually did something that hopefully will tie me over a few years, or until I win the lottery. I bought a w reg honda petrol crv with 120k on the clock for £1000 from ebay. What do you think?0 -
dont laugh but if we going for cheap and cheery then an old renaulr scenic pre 2003 model. i have had one for about 4 years now nearly, its high so easy to get in and out im 6ft3 have plenty of head and leg room once in. you can get lots in boot especiallt as back seats can be removed so then its more like a 2 seater van. now i have the diesel wich can be descirbed as pedestrian speed lol but it suits my driving style and mpg is good at 55mpg+ on motorway at about 60mph. how ever torque if you are after it is not on the diesels agenda in my opinion. but you can get a 2 liter petrol version wich will have low mpg i would have thought but you only do 2k miles a year i do 16k.
anyway there are loads of them around you get lots of kit and despite being french i have had no elec problems with car. £500 to £1500 max.
failing that then a zafira would be my second option.0
