Australian version, and folks the UK version coming your way soon if Shelbrooke has is way, items such as cigarettes, alcohol, paid television and gambling. This would apply to all claimants in work and out of work, and would cover all benefits other than disability payments and the basic state pension.

Now I've no objection whatsoever on a personal level to the exclusion of the above, but boy do I object to the 'control mechanism' it puts in the hands of the same disability hate crime megalomaniacs that gave each of the 8,000 millionaires who declare more than £1 million of earnings a £40,000 tax cut? whilst simultaneously tightening their grip on the disabled, old, ill, unemployed poor and working poor.

It doesn't affect disability related claims.

    Try reading the actual article.

    - oh dear, I didn't say it did

    I precisely said
""" it would cover all benefits other than disability payments and the basic state pension"""

    - try reading what I actually wrote
    - not what you thought I wrote
    - and try being less confrontational
    - especially when you are wrong in the first, second, and last place

    Merry Christmas DomRavioli,

If it doesn't affect disability claimants, why post it on the Disability Board?

    - oh dear !
    - because disabled, old, ill, and unemployed poor and working poor will be affected
    - many disabled and their carers work and receive in work means tested benefits in addition to disability benefits
    - many disabled and their carers dont work and receive means tested benefits in addition to disability benefits

    Merry Christmas Dunroamin,

    Merry Christmas Dunroamin,

So it does effect disability claimants? That's all right then.

And a Merry Christmas to you as well.

The only people who will be affected by the proposal ( thats all it is at present and may never see the light of day anyway) would be people claiming sickness benefits due to drug or alcohol dependency, why is that such a bad idea? It could actually help these people.
