Credit decline from 3 mobile

My OH had this problem once. It turned out they had ticked single instead of divorced. He tried again the next day with exactly the same details/shop/card and got accepted. So it may be a tiny error like this!0

does anyone know how soon after this morning's check i could expect to see the footprint on my experian report - tomorrow?
Trust me 3 mobile would give you 5 contracts if they could as I currently have two contracts with them and still get phone calls asking me to have another contract for a member of my family.0 -
I'd take it up with head office, armed with the relevant cra report if I was you.
There's clearly something awry.
Even if you don't choose to take another contract with them, it would be worth pursuing to see what the issue is. Maybe it's some sort of fraud marker not visible to you on your credit file....Three may not tell you of course, but worth a try.0 -

You should see it tomorrow on Credit ExpertI have numerous qualifications in Business and Finance, Accountancy, Health and Safety and am now studying Law.
Don't rely on anything I write as it may be wrong!!!0 -
You have 999 from Experian but only moved 6 months ago? Surely breaking one of their most basic rules should reduce their magic number??
My guess is that it's this change of address that's causing the problem particularly if they searched Equifax and this isn't up to date yet.
For reference, I have three separate contracts with 3, all same bank account0 -
I would ring up their cancellations dept to cancel the original contract. I wouldn't be surprised if they ask you to hold, and then come back with a new offer for a second contract.0
-
Thanks everyone - there is no search visible on Experian this morning from 3 - so either they rejected me from 3 before going through credit at all, or used Equifax and it looks like the house move is the problem.0
-
If you are already a customer with 3 have you ever missed a payment or had a direct debit returned or something like that?
EDIT: Ah, I guess it helps to read the rest of the thread properly instead of skimming it. Sorry.0 -
Credit search footprints are registered on your report straight away. If there's no search on your Experian report then the credit check must have been placed elsewhere. Not being on the electoral roll at another CRA could certainly be an issue, but the phone company should be able to tell you this.
James Jones“Official Company Representative
I am an official company representative of Experian. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"

I thought it was just the customer service staff at Experian that haven't got a clue about how things related to credit work and now it seem Mr JJ the Experian spokesman seem to be going down the same road.
You keep saying when people get rejected that the credit company etc should tell you why and you telling everyone on this forum that they do is blatant false information as any credit company will give you a list of many thinks that COULD of caused your rejection but no company will be specific on WHY you were actually rejected.
Banks might use Experian for credit data James Jones but that's it and that only so forget about your scores as lenders don't care or know what you've scored them and also their criteria and why someone's been rejected is their buisness and theirs only.
You sell credit data only you don't lend money so therefore you giving information about rejections and scores are irrelevant!!0
