Kobo or Kindle?

I wasn't sure where to ask this but thought here would be okay.

I need to get an E-Reader by Saturday so need to make up my mind asap but I'm having trouble.

I have a Kobo Touch that I got for my birthday and it's okay, a bit sluggish and sometimes I'm pressing the button a few times before anything happens, also when I look through some books they don't have prices beside them, don't know if this is what it's meant to be like but I don't like it, it just says download or buy no price.

Things I need/like for this Christmas present:

Built in light preferably
E-Ink for reading outside on holiday
Borrow books from library (Kobo) or from friends (Kindle)
Kobo can expand memory with card
Amazon cheaper books


Don't like:

Sluggish performance (don't know if this is just the Kobo or all)
Getting locked into just Amazon books
Not having the sharing book option on the Kobo
Not being able to borrow library books on the Kindle
Having to use Calibre on the Kindle to read Epub books (she's not good with technical things)



Also regarding touch screens and reading many other E-Reader threads on here, someone said that when you go through Airport security the E-Readers touch kind can suffer and not work properly anymore, is this anything to be worried about and not get a touch screen for, even though I prefer touch screens? She will be taking it on holiday with her and I don't want it to break.

The only thing putting me off getting the Kobo Glo is the above touch screen issue, what the performance is like as it still seems sluggish on video reviews I've looked at online and not being able to share books, though the library thing does go in its favour.

I'm confused and need to make a decision which I hate having to do rushed, more so when I have no idea what to get. I ruled out the Barnes and Nobel Nook because people say the book choice is more limited and more expensive as well.
