Authorising DDs on joint account?

OH and I have a joint Halifax Reward Current Acc. We're changing the way we budget each month and are setting all our DDs to come out of joint account instead of our individual accounts.

I have changed 5 today from our individual names to joint, but have not asked for a paper mandate to be sent out for my other half/myself to sign too - I assumed that I/he was able to authorise DDs to come out of our account without the other.

Is this the case, or will it cause problems that I have tried to authorise them without my other half/myself also giving them permission?

I've just spoken to Halifax on the phone and they have said that as long as one account holder gives permission then that's enough authority for a DD to be moved to the account.

Joint accounts normally allow either party to sign cheques and DDs.
Your assumption is correct. There will be no problems.
