Hello amazamum
IF you do look for another provider, make sure the cost of switching (if there are any - exit fees, legal fees and product fee's etc) are outweighed by the benefit you would make by making overpayment on a weekly basis. Also, are there products on the market that you would be able to obtain that are less than your current %?
The benefits of making an overpayment on a daily interest mortgage are instant - the interest adjustement is made the following day; it will however depend on what value of overpayments you are able to make on a regular basis. The mortgage product you have appears to work out interest a month in arrears .. it may therefor be that you are only 'losing' a few £s per month by the interest not being calculated daily (depending on your overpayment amount), which may be cheaper in the long run factoring in costs of switching mortgage providers.Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts - 1420 Days To Go!LBM: £103,592.98 / Currently £78,500.08 - Down 24.22% / Mortgage: £92,800.00 / Loan: £17,284.21 / Overdraft: £450.09 / C/Card 0%(October 08): £5,601.54 / C/Card 0% (January 09): £1075.22 / Child Care: £137.80

Hi Kaz, it's not my birthday and if it was I'd not spend it boogying at a high school! Just what are you trying to suggest!!
Regards, DD
Hi Sloppy, I've just followed your trail of destruction across the boards. How come we got away with a nice post? Is it because Penny offered to pinch your bum
(I was reading this in the office and Sloppy's irreverent post and Penny's reply had me snorting into my keyboard. I had to pretend to have a coughing fit to cover it! :rotfl: )Mortgage Free in 3 Years (Apr 2007 / Currently / Δ Difference)

DD you are a wally! I meant Dearest Daughter (of catowen) Although I can imagine you in a gymslip being a cheerleader!
Why is it that some people just cannot help themselves being rude to everyone in the surrounding area? Strange that he vanished for a while and is now back spouting more bile than ever. I would just hate to get on the wrong side of him.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
Trolls don't bother me, it's sometimes amusing when they pick on someone their "own size" and you see them get a battering. I thought Penny was superb. I really did have to disguise my laugh as a coughing fit - not meant to be surfing & giggling in the office. Really funny.
EDIT: Hmnn!! Bit annoyed that she's never offered to pinch my bum, now that I come to think about it!Mortgage Free in 3 Years (Apr 2007 / Currently / Δ Difference)

Mini update from Minimoocow . . .
Just looked at the figures . . . hmm long way to go!
DD - Mortgage outstanding at the start of this month was £51,051 - can you update my starting figure (Was thinking it's not that different don't bother but then thought about it - £1,000 is loads of money and I could do a fair bit with the other £51 too!! :rotfl: )
Anyway, will give a proper update at the end of the month when I've worked out what we've spent but . . .
Targets for this last month were:
*Keep spending below £1,400 (possibly not done due to a few pre-planned extras!)
*Pay £1,000 off the capital(will be close but since Jan we have paid nearly £4k off so won't be too harsh on myself just this once!)
Next Months Challenges:
As above, plus hopefully getting payrise so pay that it too! Was going to put get the house re-let for next year but OH managed to do that today :j so just need to let one room (Student house)
I think this challenge is great - it's really nice to know we're not the only one's in the country mad enough to attempt it. And I'm hoping you can all keep me on the straight and narrow when I get fed up with being frugal!
Good luck to all fellow challengers (and supporters/cheerleaders . . . )
