No, I don't really understand why you would need money to put a dog down? All our Christmas dogs are just put into a large sack and thrown into the canal on New Year's day. Doesn't cos a penny - it's the MSE way!
Remember folks, a dog is just for Christmas not for life.Mortgage Free in 3 Years (Apr 2007 / Currently / Δ Difference)

I assume DD missed off a couple of smilies somewhere in that. I would hate to think he was being serious!!
It's all down to personal preference isn't it? My mum and dad won't even change gas\electric suppliers as they really cannot be bothered. I'm sure they would save lots too.
I paid 34p onto my mortgage today. Why? Just cause it was there and I thought it would be funny. Made me laugh anyway. Probably shaved around a minute off my term!! :rotfl:
I also got a call from the Halifax telling me I'd been approved for a new account with them. That's £100 for free coming my way. Anyone care to guess where that's going??????????

This is probably going to sound a bit thick... obviously each month my mortgage goes down as I am on repayment as of May 12th it was £117 and something. I pay £700.81 a month and about £200 comes off the capital. We I give you a figure of how much I've paid off do I include the £200 too or just overpayment and total mortgage remaining.0

hello
the only figures you need give is the starting balance (when you started the quest), current balance and the difference between the 2 of them.
This will be show us how much you have paid, less any interest that has been charged.Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts - 1420 Days To Go!LBM: £103,592.98 / Currently £78,500.08 - Down 24.22% / Mortgage: £92,800.00 / Loan: £17,284.21 / Overdraft: £450.09 / C/Card 0%(October 08): £5,601.54 / C/Card 0% (January 09): £1075.22 / Child Care: £137.80

Sorry everyone, but I've been naughty. Very, very naughty! I've just bought a new car! While it is going to set me back a bit from the goal - I think as long as I behave myself from now on, I should still be able to meet the challenge date! My present car is 7 years old and while it is still a good runner - and mega-spacious (VW Caravelle) - it is starting to need quite a bit of work, not the least of which is the central locking that takes turns whether it's going to unlock or not and the drivers electric window. I have MS and I have to rely on my car to get me anywhere as I can't walk too far. That's my justification, but if anyone thinks I still need admonished - lol - I will take it on the chin like a man!!!!!!!!! Needless to say, I did NOT pay the full asking price and managed to get more for mine than originally offered - money saving gran that I am!

PS Just because I have MS doesn't mean my driving skills are impaired - hence the Superfast_Gran tag!

Hi guys!
Well this is the first time i've come to this board. I'm just about to exchange and complete contracts in June and will enter the massive amount of Debt!!
I'm putting down £25k for a deposit for a house worth £136k so i'm going to be having a mortgage of £111,000!!
Arrrgghhh! It's already scaring me how much money this is! I'm only 22 and i'm buying the house by myself, even though I have a partner, as he has loads of CCJ's hence only me on the mortgage.
I hope to gain a lot of tips from this board as I aim to be paying this mortgage back ASAP! I've opted for a 30 year mortgage as this was the only way I was able to get the bank to sign the mortgage off. As soon as we've moved in, were going to be looking for a lodger so hopefully that will going quite a bit towards the house!
Any other tips would be greatly appricated!Mortgage as Sept 2012: £96,000
Mortgage free: When i'm 39 / Sept 2023
Mortgage repayment = £588
