Just for a bit of fun I have also looked at how many of these mortgages we would have paid off now if we started with the smallest active mortgage and worked towards the biggest! Those who would be MF now in this scenario would be: sparklymessygirl, Mushy61, freedomgirl, ailuro2, cazmanian_minx, jobbingmusician, ~daisy~, Desperate Housewife, karmacat, amazamum, shazzany, lunasaver, tallgirl, superfast_Gran, minimoocow, bargain Rzl, Gallygirl, taka, hughmungas1986, LookAfterThePennies, Chickadee, MoneySavingNovice, Redbedhed, Cupid_s, CFC, financialbliss, OverlandLandy, catowen, CaroB, Dumbledore55 and kaz2904.
According to AnW's mum my mortgage is now paid off (thanks all). I'm prepared to continue to pay mine every month to benefit you all. Just call me Saint Gallygirl :A

Well if you are all up for updating more towards the end of the challenge then I suggest the following schedule:
17th July 2009
16th October 2009
15th January 2010
15th February 2010
15th March 2010
and then a final 16th April 2010.
Let me know if you think it is too much. I don't think it matters if everyone does not do it for all of them but we might more to update which would be great. Also the people who have dropped off along the way might come back. Who know.
I am up for meeting up I guess we have people all over the country so might be tricky but it could be fun.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Just popped on to update my sig as I have been paid, now stands at £8,500!!
I also have an interview lined up for the end of the month so fingers crossed, I want child friendly hours so it might be touch and go. Also got an interview for another agency so all good stuff.
I shouldn't have to pay any interest now as I have put the kids money into our account and they will get more interest as I am drip feeding it into a regular saver at a higher interest for them so its win-win.
keep it up guys, not long to go now!!!Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000

You might want to check the Ts&Cs, but I would imagine the interest would be paid on maturity, i.e. at the end of the fixed term. So if the bond's fixed for a year, the interest would be added on the anniversary date and available to withdraw on the next day (or similar).
That's how my Nationwide one's worked.Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0
