Thanks, guys! At least this part of the 'plan' is happening!
Once we have the car paid off (on a 0% Barclaycard Breathe - cheeky!) and we've saved what we need for the new arrival, we'll start caning the mortgage again and hopefully build up some of the old momentum...MFW Challenge member no. 96 - on hold!

Good for you! - I don't think that's cheeky at all, your playing the banks at there own game, and winning. Think of all that interest your saving, which I guess you can now use better somewhere, or some person, else! (PS Congratulations from me too)0 -
I know - the garage hated it as it costs them money to pay that way... (and surprised the card didn't decline given how unusual the transaction was and it maxed it out!) Barclaycard Breathe is supposed to be a 'green' card... ah well, I guess it offsets some of the emissions! (though we deliberately stayed in the same tax bracket - C).
Thanks for all the good wishes!MFW Challenge member no. 96 - on hold!

Congratulation Mountain Lioness lovely news. Also nice to hear from the people who have not updated for ages. Please PM me and I can update the chart. I am going to post it in Mid April so you have plenty of time.
To post a spreadsheet on here you need to transfer it into something like photobucket and then load it as a picture on here. A bit of a faff but not too bad.Save £12k in 25 No 49

:j :j :j :jMember of mortgage free in 3. £13,000ish to go on mortgage but now running out of  money! Hard slog for this last bit!0 -
Just done some sums.
Since I started the MFiT 24 months ago I have paid £4,704 in interest charges (excluding repayment), on my mortgage. If I had not joined the MFiT - I would have paid £6,998 over the same two years! - That saved me £2,294 or £1,147 a year just in interest!
The above takes into account the interest rate movements - I have a tracker rate - if I was on a fixed rate the amount would be even higher.0
