Well financialbliss, I will be making the pizza for tea tonight.
I've been meaning to make it again for ages but hadn't got round to it yet. I wasn't sure where my recipe was and I've a bottle of passata in the fridge to use up so it's very MS isn't it!
DS doesn't want cheese on his (?) so I'll grate cheese and carrot togethter to make it less cheesy.
On the mortgage front, I managed to remember to go into my Egg account and change my direct debt to clear the balance transfer at this next payment due. This means that by the time I update my snowball next month I will be able to see whether or not I ended up saving any money by doing the balance transfer. I'm a little unsure as I ended up only being given 10 months to clear it and couldn't whack it all in at the same time.
Well today is the result of unisons ballot on whether to accept the pay deal. I don't know really. I voted yes because we were warned that if the majority was no then we would be expected to take industrial action and go on strike.
This is something we were discussing the other night and I don't think I know a single nurse who is comfortable with the thought of going on strike. I don't know how they would organize it either because you could potentially end up with one nurse stuck on duty until the strike ends. (We aren't legally allowed to leave until we've handed over the keys etc...) Also we would be endagering peoples lives which goes against evrything we try to do. Very difficult position really. Our other union the RCN always had a position of not going out on strike but that was changed a couple of years ago to say that they would consider going out on strike.
    Any hoo- enough rambling!
    Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.
    MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.
    2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.

One of my sons hates cheese - it's the smell. I have spent a decade scraping cheese of pizza!:rotfl:

I cheat and buy two plain ready made bases from Tesco for about 99p:o

Then I use Dolmio bolognese sauce for the base for DH's pizza, a mix of tomato and BBQ sauce for my own, and just tomato sauce for DD's. Then we have a mix of peppers, tomato and ham, mozzarella sprinkled over the top, some pepperoni slices for DH, and while they are not as good as Pizza hut it's about £22 pounds cheaper and about 3000 calories less too!:j

Had them for tea last night.

AngelaDavis - that sounds very exciting, being MFin 1 and a wee bit instead of three!:T

TallGril - check the rules for customs and excise if you are importing the dolls to sell in Denmark - are you allowed? I wouldn't want them to be confiscated at the airport!

    Hi,

Well, I didn't make pizzas last night, but I did make three loaves (from 3/4 pack of Lidl strong bread flour). One plain, one with walnuts, and one with some leftover mixed peel and sultanas. I used a recipe by Weezl I found over on the OS thread. I'd give them 5/10 for taste, but they were very nice and doughy. More practice require.

We also have 2 plain pizza bases for 99p in the fridge, waiting for pizza tonight, and I have leftover flour and yeast to make our own bases later on in the week.

Thanks for encouraging me to try!

Its ok we are taking the car and as far as I know taking a few second hand dolls to another EU county should be OK. I am up to 6 now but my niece is having 2 of them so should be OK.

Sounds like you are all getting into pizza so may I recommend my favorite. Make a tomato based pizza with cheese (Margarita) take it out of the oven and lay thin slices of parma ham and top with rocket leaves. Lovely and fresh and rocket is so easy to grow in the garden and lasts all summer.

Hi everyone,I have just had some good news that I wanted to share.
My parents have just given us 15000 pounds to pay off our mortgage,(boy I have good parents).
As we are tied into our fixed rate(0.49 above bank of england base rate),currently stands at 5.49% until dec 09 we cannot actually pay it off the mortgage balance but it can be offset so we dont pay the interest on 15000 worth of mortgage.

Do you clever people have any other ideas on how we could make this work even better for us so that in dec 09 we have more than 15000 to pay off as a lump sum.
I hope this makes sense,my mind is wirring with ideas,my quest to pay off the full balance by the time I am 40(in 5 & a half years time)might actually be achievable now)yipee:T

;) Ahem, do your parents have a gap for another child as I am up for adoption ;) .

    What great news :T :T :T :T .

I'd suggest bung £7200 in an ISA (assuming you have OH), 6.25% is best rate I think (check on moneysupermarket.com). Then do the same next April, however make sure you can make penalty free withdrawals.

The rest should be put into best savings account. BUT::::::: remember though that you are taxed on the interest. You pay no tax on the interest you 'save' in your offset, meaning it's like an Isa really. To match your mortgage interest rate you'd need to beat 6.86% , assuming basic rate tax payer. The best rate at the mo is Alliance & Leicester, still doing 12% as a regular saver (£250 a month) but you need to open a current account. Several others in the same vein.

    So:
    1. £7200 into ISA
    2. Balance of £7800 into offset
    3 Open A & L current account & regular savings account (x 2 if possible).
    4. Drip feed £250 (or £250 x 2) from offset into regular savings.

or, just do 1 & 2 and relax
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)
