Well done Sparkly!!!
Doesn't matter how small the mortgage was, it was still making your house not 100% your own. Now it's ALL yours!:j
They should have a bell they ring or something when someone comes in to pay off their mortgage, or the last payment of a loan.... but then again people might want the bell to ring for them too, resulting in less profits...maybe that's why they don't do anythin special for you.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Well done, Sparkly! A good boost and reminder for the rest of us!
I've been away for a week, and just caught up with Jonesy Bonesy - a bit weird, because I've just applied for voluntary redundancy, too, for me it's 13 years in the job since University and not enjoyed it. I don't think my chances of getting the redundancy are too good (the scheme is heavily oversubscribed) but I'll find out in Sepetmber. If I get the go ahead it could be as early as Christmas that I'd go.
So I definitely think you're doing the right thing, fingers crossed for you. I need to figure out what I really want to do with my working life, too!Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0 -
Hi there, Trying to be good
Uncanny similar set of circumstances !! Hope you get the decision with regards to your redundancy that you want. I think that once you have made the decision to go, you just want confirmation that you will get it. I should find out by end of June / July myself.
I was back in work today after a little holiday and after one day back my stress levels are through the roof so I know I'm doing the right thing.
Maybe we should start a seperate " Make yourself redundant in 3 " challenge

Hi everyone,
It's been a while since I've visited this forum. I've been oh so busy with a new job. Things are going well in the job and I'm hoping this will help with my mortgage free in three efforts.
My latest news is that my mortgage on 17th May 2008 was £59.634.09
I hope you are all meeting your targets or maybe you're past them??? I hope so. :-D
Good luck all.
