    Morning all
Thanks for the updates, TAKA I have changed your starting point to £56k but kept the £11k target I think it makes more sense.

We now have 15 people who have not updates us since July 2007 so they will come off the challenge. Also a few of the newer members have not got onto the chart yet and Setmefree need to define a target for April 2010. Other than that it is looking really good.

We have 104 on the chart but obviously 15 to come off unless they come forward soon. Even if you don't feel you have overpaid by much or anything please report in. Remember that if you are on a repayment mortgage the balance will have come down anyway. I have been looking at the people who started with £45k like myself and gosh some are doing really well it will definitely spur me on. Looking at the figures as they are now I wonder if we could pay of £1 mill before April 2008. How cool would that be.

Need to get some more appointments sorted out today for work so wish me luck it is almost like cold calling and I hate it.

Transferred my ebay sales monies across into the offset today - that's another £90.

Also need to take a trip to the local branch to change the pin no so I can check the balance regularly.

Checked the value of my old PEP which is an M&G recovery fund. Its done really well so I am going to leave be - went up 25.5% last year, making me nearly £900 in 12 months! It has been there a long time and I only made £1200 contributions as it was when I was first saving, but is now worth over £4k! See what this year brings.:T

Am putting a long list of money-making ideas together to try out this year - ebay being the main one. I want to set myself a minimum £50 per month target to raise funds this way. I also have a motorbike to sell and am trying to get onto AQA so I can do a few hours a week to raise more cash.

I have been offered a permanent job - salary isn't as high as my current contract salary, but I like the company and role and am seriously considering it. We are still working out an agreement on package, but fingers crossed.
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

phoned the mortgage company yesterday and arranged for this years extra 10% to be paid which was good

on a less good note - im having an operation next week which has made a significant dent in our savings/mortgage pot ( to the tune of around 6k ) but i will also be taking time of work for a 6/8 week recovery period
this wont be paid for by the gym as im new and part time but the thing im most concerned about was my fledgling massage business has been doing so well that im loathe to take this time - but i guess theres just never a good time for something like this :(
hopefully ill have a good quick recovery and be back working in no time - fingers crossed

on another bad note - hub has a bonus paid in 4 quarters - in recent years has been about 5k a quarter - his company has decided to now only pay once a year but has also adjusted the targets and according to hub are partically impossible to meet so thats about 12k in our pocket we will be losing a year
this was our holidays our house stuff our getting out of trouble and savings money - pretty gutted really

ive only been back working since may but have been saving for my surgery so was thinking great once im back i can save all my wages for the mortgage but now they will be used to prop up our savings and holiday funds instead

one step forward tow steps back.......

sorry this has turned into a bit of a whine and should really be in my wannabee thread

I've just increased my mortgage payments! The rent from the house is 380 per month and I was paying 350 so I've upped it so that all the money is going straight to the mortgage. I spent ages deliberating over where to put the money as I have the motgage and an extension on it before finally clicking that they are the same rate for the same product and when I remortgage they will almost certainly become one, they just have different acc numbers at the mo, only took me 4 days to catch on! Just job hunting now... so dull but it's stopped snowing and there's not much else to do and I don't want to be spending my savings

ETA: I don't seem to have been given a quest number yet, I've PMd Dithering Dad, is there something else I'm sposta be doing?

Lexxi - did you pm TallGirl? She administers the challenge.

I think you need to provide her with the following:

    Amount at start of challenge
    Challenge outcome goal
    Amount currently
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D
