Not yet- I'm leaving home when that happens!
No they are almost 4 and almost 6. I'm 29 and hope to have the everything paid off just before their 10th and 12th birthdays.

  • Hi

Jeez 29 - you're sooooooooooooooooooo lucky.....me 45:doh:I'd love to be 29 again and to have a couple of "big" rug rats. I think it's wonderful to have young parents, I know that the down side is that it's finacially tough...but it's nice to have young parents...

Teens are good too...they just want to go out all the time when they should be studying:rolleyes:

I am pregnant with our first child and currently plan to return to work. I am lucky in that my type of work (accountancy) and my employer are flexible so part time work is an option as can be working from home for part of the week.

I have worked hard to get where I am and don't want to give up completely but can cope with a few stagnant years in terms of career progression to work part time.

One of our reasons for trying to get the mortgage low was the plan to have children. Realistically we weren't going to manage to get rid of it but the lower it is the less financial pressure there is when I am on maternity leave, particularly as being the higher earner means we will take a big drop when my income stops.

We are just about to get a bigger mortgage (which was always the intention) and have worked it out such that we can afford it while I am off work. We ended up buying a smaller house with the potential to extend rather than the larger house we originally wanted - far better for trying to get mortgage free!

I will Pm tall girl with my results in the next couple of days, I am just waiting for a payment to recognise which will clear my small mortgage account and just leave one account for us to attack:j

As for Xmas...... my babies are all grown up and want cash for Xmas. I'm a good bargain shopper, but have tried all the banks and none are doing BOGOF's on 20 pound notes .

I worked from when youngest was 6 months.TBH I needed to for my sanity. Looking back though, I could have done so much more with the money.....
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)
