Airline seating plan websites

Options
I was just on https://www.Seatguru.com and searched for the aircraft I will be flying on to and from Newark, a Continental airlines 762

According to that site, seat 19a is an emergency exit seat, which I hate. So I called Continental to change and they said seat 19a is actually 3 rows behind the exit, so thats fine with me.

Are there any other sites such as seatguru that I can double check this on?

From their website it looks like Continental allow you to view the cabin layout and the already reserved seats then change your own seat on-line for individual flights. I've used a similar feature on American Airlines and found it very useful and flexible.

If it's like AA then you have to be in the frequent flier club which you can log in to on-line. You can then get to the flights and seat plans of the aircraft you will be using when you have your ff membership number aligned with your ticket. I joined the AA ff club after booking my first ticket and needed my ticket issuer to update my booking with this information before I could make any changes. It took 24 hours but then I was able to move my seat around the cabin as I needed for my convenience.

    Hope this helps.
    Nice to save.

Managed to find this site , but unfortunately it also shows 19A as an exit row.

However, if you look at the layout of the 764 it shows row 16 as an exit, so 19A would be three rows back. I guess it's possible that they've switched the aircraft.

Your best place to look for this one would be https://www.continental.com, as the seat maps on their site are great. You can guarantee that, if you have been allocated 19A then it isn't an exit row seat (though it is obviously a window) as the exit rows can't be allocated until the day of departure, as they have to physically see you to make sure you're physically fit enough.

Incidentally, why do you hate the exit row? You dislike extra legroom??

Legroom doesnt bother me as Im just over 5 foot tall! There is no under seat storage, you usually put your belongings in the seat in front of you but in that situation there is none. On a long hall flight the seatbelt sign can come on several times and when thats on your belongings must be stowed above, its a real pain. Plus I dont like the stupid tray tables in the arm rest. I was allocated one of those seats before and I was well chuffed but in reality it wasnt so good!
