Parcel Delivery Post Box?
SJshah
I shop online a LOT and unfortunately keep having the same problem of never being at home when the parcels are being delivered. Therefore need to make constant visits to the post office to pick up parcels (and even small ones which can easily fit through the letterbox).
There are these things called parcel boxes which might be perfect for me... My questions are:
Has anyone got one of these?
Do you think its a useful investment?
What type or size would be best?
And is the postman smart enough to use the parcel box? (i.e. does the postman even use it?)
Hope somebody can help

We've got a parcel safe - it cost about £40 from Amazon. Our regular postie uses it well - leaves things in it and usually locks it, other delivery services are a bit random - Yodel left a parcel on the opposite side of the back door yesterday, some don't lock it and some insist on a signature and won't use the code inside it.
Generally I think it's been well worth the investment, but bear in mind it's only good for one delivery a day - once it's been filled and locked, the next delivery driver can't use it!0 -
I have a parcell box
it measures 18 inches square and 6 inches deep.
I made it myself when I worked at a sheet metal company and it was used by the postie for regular parcel deliveries that I was getting at the time, I also made a sign that said "leave parcel in box on wall and close padlock".
As has been said, they tend to be 'one-shot' units unless you get a combination lock fitted and are able to commute the code successfully to all the different delivery companies that might need to use it.0 -

Sounds good enough for me
I usually get only one delivery on any one day. Things that need a signature will need to be picked up from the post office or scheduled for a re-delivery on a better date I guess.
Unfortunately, the cheapest one I've found is £60 which is only adequate for smaller parcels. Larger ones are all over £100 which is just out of my price range atm.I have a parcell box

Seems useful enough. A sticker with "PARCELS" and a huge arrow pointing to the box should do.
Now, all I need to know is where to buy one for a reasonable price.

Anyhow, needs to be pretty big to be useful IMHO, I've had mine full to bursting...
Looks like thats exactly what I need. Where did you get this one from?going by that statement,I guess I'm lucky I can get my hands to mash the keyboard to form words...............
On many occasions, the postman doesn't have enough common sense to post very small packets into the letterbox. If it doesn't require a signature, doesn't have "fragile" written on it and easily fits into the letterbox - what would you do?"Real knowledge is knowing the extent of one's ignorance."0 -
How about this one? Thanks for the replies.

(currently out of stock but worth keeping an eye on)
If you live in Fife I would suggest a visit to Rejects store in Kirkcaldy0 -

I've just refunded a buyer using a po box type virtual address.
But not sure if i am right to do so - as i will get my first neg.
But if there is a problem - i have no idea who bought it and where they live.0 -
OMG, I just want to know how will you collect the delivery of your parcel safe? Will you first get a bigger one for it? And would you need an even bigger one for that ... the mind boggles
