Is it possible to recover those videos from your HD (even while offline for example)?
I was told that anything that is viewed on your monitored is actually stored somewhere on your PC's HD.. is this true?

No, that's not my understanding. My understanding is that if you are online you can type in www.youtube. and it will bring up a list of all your recent youtube visits, so you could track down one that you had recently visited, for example
But the video itself isn't stored on your hard drive
Having said that, I'm not a techie...Thanks to all who post constructively.

If you use Internet Explorer, then yes, the videos you watch on YouTube are downloaded to your hard drive. (I'm not entirely sure if Firefox does that too, I can't find the videos anywhere in my hard drive after doing a quick test with Firefox).
Look under:
C:\Documents and Settings\*computer name*\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
You should have (assuming you haven't cleared your Temporary Internet Files cache) files in that folder named :
get_video?video_id=(whatever)
Those are the YouTube videos that you watched in Internet Explorer. If you copy that get_video?video_id=(whatever) file, paste it in another folder (say C:/) and add .swf at the end, i.e., rename file to get_video?video_id=(whatever).swf, you'll be able to watch that .swf file with VLC media player or a player that can play swf files. The true cost of something is what you give up to get it.0 -
or download 'Youtube Google Video Grabber' from downloads.com, enter the url and it'll download it as a FLV file. You can then get an FLV player (from the same site GOM or FLVplayer are both fairly good) and you can watch when ever you like...0
