e bay parcel delivered to neighbours

HI I hope someone can help !! Today i was expecting a small music boxset thro e bay, the seller dispatched it on monday via parcel force, i emailed them today as i had not received it only to be told it was delivered and signed for by myself at 13:53 today ?? i knew there was a parcel force delivery today as i live in a two storey block of four flats with my flat the first one you come to in the lobby. I know all the tenants in the block and i do know that there was only myself and one other tenant in today as one flat is unoccupied and the other he goes out at the crack of sparrows. I went up to the neighbour and they said they did not have the parcel for me l . I then spoke to the seller on the phone and also saw a copy of what was supposed to be my signature which it was not .My Partner then went up to see the neighbours again and my partner told them parcel-force man knocked on their door and also spoke to her the female that lived in there and she denied of receiving anything thro the post or any one knocking the door even tho i saw the man deliver to them and heard a female voice answer the door. where do i stand as i know they have my parcel??:mad::mad::mad::mad:

  • Many thanks i just feel so angry that my neighbours can deny all knowledge of getting the parcel when i know it was delivered to them, and the seller has been so good about it .
What about the fact they signed for the parcel in my name? It just means that someone will lose out as someone will have to pay for the item am so glad it was not a xmas gift, well i hope they can sleep at night

It is the sellers responsibility to get the item to you, they have a contract with the courier and they have to pursue them for a resolution, if the courier decides they want to get the Police involved that is their call.

The only thing you need concern yourself with is the sellers duty to get the item to you, so open an item not received case with the seller, speak to an ebay agent on the phone and explain the situation.
This is correct, however it depends on the seller. I've had something similar happen as a seller and Paypal found in my favour when the buyer opened a dispute case. I eventually got it sorted with the courier but if I had been less honest I could have just left it.

In this case I'd try and exhaust all options. Check with Parcelforce to see what the driver has to say about where it was delivered. Ask the seller to get a claim form from Parcelforce. Be prepared for it to take a while to sort out.

If someone has signed for it in your name that is a crime against you, not the courier or the seller, so they could both deny responsibility.

If you were in, saw the driver and heared him deliver next door - why didn't he deliver to you?

Did he leave a card - or is it just hes gone to the wrong flat? Are the numbers clear?

Paypal have always backed me (the seller) in such cases.

If you knew the parcel was being deliverd why didnt you go out and inquire if the driver had your parcel.
  • HI i did not know the parcel he was delivering to my neighbour was mine at the time not until the seller gave me the time and sent signature for the parcel , it does not even look like my signature what worries me is that the seller and e bay / paypal could say they have proof of delivery as they have a signature ,
Personally i think the parcelforce driver went to wrong flat as the block is only four flats but they are numbered 1-3 then 2-4 in a N shape so flat two is situated above flat one( i hope this makes sense ) so i think he assumed flat 3 ( mine ) was up stairs and i also think he pre signed for the item and handed it over when my neighbour opened door.

Normally i have not had issues with neighbours as we have taken parcels in for each other before our relations only broke down when she reversed into my car while it was parked in our residential carpark
