Homecare 100 boiler cover
Both myself and my mum have boiler cover with british gas. I took out my cover in Dec 2011 (boiler was serviced), and mum took hers out in Jan 2012 (boiler was serviced). We both were paying £13.00 per month for this cover. A letter came notifying me that my agreement renews on 5th Dec, and my annual service is due March 2013 and my monthly payments will be increasing to £15.70. Mums renewal letter has come through saying her agreement renews on Jan 19th and her annual service is due Oct 2013, and installments will be increasing to £17.60.
I thought annual was every 12 months, not 15 months and 21 months, also how do they justify the difference between my instalments and mums? mums boiler is quite a few years newer than mine.

They will stagger the Annual Service... but you can request it anytime during the year. The annual service will be done within the 12mth contract... i believe this iis stated in t&c's.
The price will vary depending on model, breakdown history.
Their prices have went up... so your 100 would cost £16 if you quote online... so yours is cheaper than that!!Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0 -

Yes I checked and did a new quote online and it did show up as £16.
But
mines gone up about £20 for a boiler that is 12 years old and needed a new pcb board this year, mums boiler is approx 5 years old and she paid for a insulated pipe nearly £200 (this had to be done before they would carry out her service) and an AA battery for her remote.0 -

It's an insurance policy so premiums are based on risk. A model with more expensive parts and poor reliability will attract a higher premium.0
