I'm a tradesman and I can assure you that liability insurance doesn't have a clause saying you must wear safety boots at all times.

Overboot protectors don't compromise the effectiveness of boots, even on a step ladder.

I always wear overboot protectors or offer to take my boots off. It's not difficult.
Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.
  • it's not just insurance it's also health and safety as wearing boots prevents needle nicks etc.

However having worked in property maintenance for many years i have never heard of an insurance company banning overshoes (one of my responsibilities was insurance).

well, we sorted it out easily because my dishwasher was round the back so he used the back door, but have any of you heard of this before? sounds like either laziness or socks with holes to me...
A plumber asking if he can use the rear entrance?

Is this the plot of a Robin Askwith 1970's sex film?

If a doctor called round to tend to a member of the family, would he/she be required to slip his/her shoes off?
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

No. Doctors are 'professionals', and therefore it's assumed that their shoes will be clean anyway...

I wonder if the type of footwear has any bearing? Do we differentiate between Stilletos/brogues/boots/Uggs/Flats/Sandals and further, does the finish make any difference i.e patent leather, real leather, polished or unpolished?

having organised our public, product and employers liability insurance for a regional property maintenance company for 7 years i have never come across an insurance comapny that stated you could not wear overshoes. In fact most wanted to know what precautions you took to prevent damamge to customers belongings including carpets and would therefore expect overshoes to be worn.
