esa rate confused

got my award letter recently and am somewhat confused.
it says i am on contributions based support group esa.
it stating i will receive £71 per week, i thought this was the assessment phase!?
i thought the the support group was £99 per week!?
it then fails to mention about the enhanced disability premium of £14.80 per week which i know is extra for being in support group.
is it worth foning or popping into my local benefit office to query this?
thanks.

The rates for WRAG for CB ESA is £99.15 (£71 + £28.15) and if you're in the SG the rate is £105.05 per week (£71 + £34.05)
The assessment rate is £71 per week (same as JSA)0 -
You'll only get the Enhanced Disability Premium if you are also eligible for Income Related ESA, the premiums are not payable if you are only receiving ESA(CB).0

so why have i been given then assessment phase of £71 if I am in the contributions based support group!?
does this mean that after 14 weeks i will have to go for yet another medical!!??
sorry for being a bit thick here ..0 -
You need to call the DWP to clarify what you are being paid and why.
Do you have a pension that would reduce what you are being paid?
ESA main stream payments are made up of two components, the Base component is £71 (which happens to the same as the Assessment rate for an adult over 25) and a Group component.
See Schrodie's post above0 -
will go into my local jobcentre to ask them all it says its just esa basic rate of £71 per week plus £34 for the support group.
however when i checked the benefit rates, it says support group is £99 per week so i am confused!!
i dont have a pension, but i do live with someone who works full time so wonder if this has anything to do with it?0 -

Check the rates here. Here
If you're on CB ESA then it isn't means tested.0 -
I don't get the rates?? I am in the WRAG since April, cont. based and recieve £110 per week, am now on income based as my husband was let go from his job due to medical issues and still recieve £110 per week, husband has applied for ESA and sent a 6 month fit note from GP, he gets £71 assessment rate.
If the rate for the support group is £110 per week how come I get it and am in the WRAG?0 -
The rate of Conts-based ESA payable varies depending on which of 4 scenarios you fit:
1. Assessment phase
2. Passed assessment and placed in the WRAG
3. Passed assessment and placed in the SG
4. Migrated from IB, IS or SDA and are now on ESA with a transitionally protected top-up
If income-related entitlement also exists then relevant premiums will be added on top.0 -

i was put into contributions based esa and placed into the support group and it does not mention about being in assessment phase.
when i got a copy of the esa85 atos medical report, it stated to be reviewed under medium term which i understand is around 2 years.
i was transferred from incapacity benefit.
why i am confused!
