Anyone else fed up of ADVENTS!?

OMG Roll on Christmas when most of them are over! I have really cut down on them this past week, realising that many of them have pretty c*** prizes and lots of the bigger companies are just offering discounts etc.

I feel tired now and cannot wait until I can get back to my usual routine again. I have been lucky - so I have that to be thankful for - but the effort I have put in has worn me down!!! All you see are ads for how to sparkle and look your best this Christmas - think I am going to look like a worn out wreck with bags under my eyes and stress wrinkles!:eek::eek:

No - I am not stressed at all. My plan was to only enter those on twitter, directly from twitter, or any others that I just happened to land on when looking at the forums. I have entered some just on the odd day here and there.

I am therefore not bothered by them at all :rotfl:

Incidentally, I have won a few of the twitter ones, so the plan has paid off too.

Hope you can relax over Christmas and that you have a good one.

I am but only beacuse I'm not winning on them :(
I've stopped looking at the IWIWIW as there's a lot of advent winners and I'm becoming a green-eyed monster :D

I'd throw in the towel if i wasn't hooked and hoping a win is just round the corner :rotfl:
Wine is made to be drunk, I am drunk, therefore am I wine?

That is the trouble with comping, you do get hooked.
  • I'm not fed up of them yet but I will be glad to get back to doing just regular comps after next week! It'll seem like a holiday, haha.

I'm not having much luck with advents either but I'm persevering and hoping I'll have some late wins or prizes that just turn up after Christmas. Luckily I'm still having my usual luck with daily/regular comps so that's great :D

Well done on your wins Bluebella x

May you all have lots of luck, Emma xx

I'm getting fed up of them, cos I have been doing loads and not won a jot (other than a Pringles speaker, like 92000 other people!)
Plus I haven't had time to keep up with normal comps too, so I have about a week's worth of those to catch up on :(

Jewels84, I'm right with you on the green eyed monster thing. Am getting so jealous seeing people winning comps that I entered - don't they know those were MY prizes!!! ;) But like you say, a big win could always be just round the corner so we keep on going!!! xxx

I've been selective with them as like you I've noticed how many of the prizes are for stuff I really don't care about winning. Think i'm probably entering about 100-150 advents but is no more than the number of comps that I'd normally enter each day. There's been so few new comps posted that it's not taking me any longer to comp than any other time of you. Think the key to advents is definitely to be selective and make you own list.

I haven't been entering 100s of Advents as I have been trying to keep up with the dailies and usual MSE comps so I don't have a back log after Christmas. I think that is why I feel so tired - because I am doing the extra!

I've cut down on the "normal" dailies & have been doing the advents instead & although I've not entered them all ( or anything near) I've had shed loads of wins (all small though) . I've noticed that a lot have already finished & there seems be a fair few finishing on 21st

I'm not as fed up with them as I usually get because myself and DH had a few days in London last week so I missed some. I came back all ready and raring to go again with them, so I think that having a few days orf has definitely helped. I don't even do them all either, I think if I did that, it would really drive me nuts. :D

Having said that, I do agree that getting back to the old routine can't come quick enough. :rotfl:It doesn't half knock you out of that comping whack.
