The Hut - Delivery times

I ordered a present for my OH on 10th Dec from The Hut and it was despatch on 11th. It has still yet to arrive. I have contacted them and they have told me to get in touch if it hasn't arrived by Xmas day which is obviously too late. I think this is completely unacceptable but they aren't going to budge.

It's the only thing he has actually asked for so I am panicking.

I am just wondering what peoples experiences are like with The Hut. I am sure I read something yesterday about them generally taking ages to deliver but I cannot find it now.

I haven't ordered from them for a long time so haven't got anything to base it on.

Has anyone ordered from them recently?

Will use Amazon next time!

avoid TheHut.

I ordered a PS Move. It arrived on time. The item turned up but was a second hand one - the box was tatty and the camera was missing.

I then sent it back. they said they never received it. I sent them proof - they said they never received the proof.

Luckily i had sent a photocopy. I then sent the proof recorded delivery. This was signed for but still they said they didnt receive it. Again luckily i had sent a photocopy - I scanned the original and sent them that. Only then did they accept I had returned it.

I asked for a refund before all this - they said too late we've sent out a replacement..... I just sold that on ebay rather than risk returning it

Extremely slow delivery. Personally I'd buy elsewhere and return to The Hut under DSRs when it arrives.

They post second class which as its xmas is very slow. I ordered a blu-ray last Monday(10th) and it turned up this morning.

I wouldn't worry as even with the speed of second class mail it should be with you in the next couple of days

I have Amazon Prime so my plan is if it doesn't arrive by Saturday to order it there!

This has made me feel a little bit better. I just don't understand it though, I've ordered loads of things since which have been sent 2nd class and received them at the beginning of this week!

I just don't believe The Hut can be sending out things when they say they are.

Also Amazon were even worse delivery wise, I ordered something 3 and a half weeks ago on "super saver delivery" and it took 3 weeks to turn up! I think its just that time of year that slows everything down

I ordered something on the 9 dec and it arrived yesterday, so your will prob arrive today or tomorrow

I ordered from THE HUT on the 19th October and did not get the Dispatch email until the 30th. They ask you to wait ten days for delivery before contacting them and it turned up on the 10th day. So that was about 22 days.
The site did not indicate that the item was not in stock so they either show items the do not have and have to order in as you order or they have really slow admin!

Don't rely on Amazon after the first week of December either as they have let me down several times.

Hope you get the DVD and I hope it is not your husbands only gift from you, how about making up a card showing the DVD & details and say to follow, that way you can give him the card as the gift and after the Christmas period the DVD will have arrived and he can enjoy it at leisure with no guests or busy day around him.
