eg...cooker, hob, extractor, washing machine..
there appears to be a hell of a choice on the net....whats the best way of understanding which brands/models are better than the next one?..
should I auto assume SMEG or Siemens is better than Hotpoint eg?...I've not got much to go on.
thanks

According to Which report, overall Bosch are the best performer.0

Belling make good hobs, ovens etc. Great value and look good too.
When it comes to extractors spend as little as possible on one you are happy with, there's very little in them so you're just paying for a name.
As Kitchendesigner said Bosch are the best according to which, but you'll also have thousands of people very happy having paid half the price for a cheaper machine which does the job.0 -
Here's a few articles I wrote (ar a lot of them anyway) to get you started
There are actually massive differences in cooker hoods, just look at the extraction rates for a start. Then consider the filters that it uses, cheap ones get fabric filters you have to replace, more expensive ones have metal ones you chuck in the dishwasher to clean.
Bosch are good, but not the best. That honour currently belongs to Miele, but you pay for that.
