You are better off on the buywithconfidence website, where there is some semblence of vetting, and comeback if things go wrong0

there's no point whatsoever in any of them , you don't know if any of the reviews are genuine .
you might just as well pluck a random name from the local paper ,0 -
Don't know if these sites you mention are different but I have used MyBuilder.com and for me it has worked well. However I don't expect them to have fully vetted everybody. What it offers me is:
- It puts my job out to a wide range of potential tradesman.
- I determine if contact is made.
- I get to see a range of proposed methods and prices - providing I post accurate details and photos
There are no guarantees so I need research my shortlist but so far 3 tradesman used and three great results.
Using the phone book I have wasted a lot of time seeing people who couldn't or didn't want the job - largely we mutually agreed but their time was wasted as well
