no they do not see your card details they will see that you have paid and can go into their account to check the money is there. They will get your name, address and email address only.:hello: TTC since 11/090

Paying with a debit card is just like using your card normally in a shop, so yes it does come straight out of your account0 -
PayPal is just like a forwarding service for money, if you will.
You have an account and associate your credit or debit card with it and can then pay for your purchases using the cards. It works like any other transaction in a shop or online. The buyer does not see any of your card details, simply that you have paid them an amount of money. Once they see your money in their account they can then send your item.
PayPal basically then provides security for you and the seller, as if there are issues you can try and claim your money back directly through PayPal.
If you search the internet (and this site) you will find people with specific problems with PayPal, but for the most part and for small transactions they are ok. I personally have not had a problem with them and they seem to be the way online auction payment is going I'm afraid.I'm so sexy it's a wonder my underpants don't explode.0 -

For me paypal is the only way I will pay for something on ebay.
I'm just about to post another rant about paying by cheque...I might calm down though before I post it.

I did that, went through all the demo's and read the help pages but non of it made it as clear as what svmitche said, just wanted a bit of advice about it from people who have used it.Trevor McDoughnut, tonight at 100

I've gotta say I am not a fan of Paypal and their expensive fees, particularly if you are selling things on Ebay as it eats into your profit, I would much rather do a bank to bank transfer so that I get to keep all the money - it only takes 3-5 working days.0
