Is this good value to have or not?
Am looking getting a policy with Aviva and I don't know whether to get this with it instead of the British Gas cover that we currently have.
Money wise it would seem well worth it (£5 per month instead of £18 currently being paid to British Gas) but would appreciate other people's thoughts.

I dont think the aviva cover will be as in depth but then the chances on claiming on the extra things british gas cover is pretty slim.
Its probably best getting the policy documents and reading through them - it wont be the most interesting thing you will do this week but atleast you will get your answer.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I have it with Aviva just in case something should happen although I haven't needed to use it.
I would read and compare the terms and policy cover on both and make your decision on that, for instance Aviva home emergency cover has a limit of £500 with no excess.
British Gas as far as I know has various excesses depending on the emergency but I don't know the limit with them.0 -

wouldnt touch it....

We will arrange for an Approved
Contractor to carry out an Emergency
Repair, or a Permanent Repair if it is a
similar price, up to a maximum of
£500 including:
- VAT
- Call-out charges
- Labour
- Parts and materials.
So your £5er only guarantees a temp repair.
remember your definition of an emergency, wont match theirs.
timer not working, radiator in living room not working, slight drip, loss of pressure wont be covered.Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0 -
Hi,
I am a new member in this forum and this is my first post in it.
Are they that desperate they are bringing in their call staff ??
Wouldnt touch it with a bargepole.
IHE missed out another point, they put you on auto renew & the amount goes SKY high, they say it was an intro amount and then they try to charge you a cancellation fee, because you tell them to keep off your card, even though you only signed up for 12 months - they think otherwise.
#PersonalExperience ^ advice, stick to BG or do more googling !!0
