New Gas installation - query

Hi there,
Just looking for some advice if anyone can help please as we don't feel like we are getting anywhere with the Gas Suppliers.
A friend has recently had Gas Central Heating installed and the engineer at the time asked if they would like him to arrange a Gas Supplier which they agreed to and they were told it would be with NPower, a couple of weeks later they received a welcome letter from NPower, a few days later they received a bill from Swalec. They have contacted both suppliers who both insist that they are with them and after hours of ringing between both companies NPower told my friend that everything is sorted and they are an NPower customer., then today a reminder for the bill they received from Swalec was recieved, which makes them feel like they are back to square one and now have to wait another 5 days for NPower to contact Swalec again.
They were told that they are not allowed to be with two different gas suppliers and the fact that both NPower and Swalec have account numbers for my friend now makes things rather annoying.
If anyone can advise my friend who they can speak to, to get this resolved as soon as possible as they don't fancy receiving two gas bills, your feedback will be greatly appreciated.
