Total Parking Solutions

Hi, Hope you guys can give me some reassurance!!

I have a company car that was supposedly parked in Halfords for nearly 2 hours! This is not the case, as i came in to turn around and then left, then did come back later and stayed for 20 mins but left again. But TPS have me down that I came in once and did not leave until nearly 2 hours later!
My office only had the letter from TPS nearly one month after the so called penalty notice was issued.... So i did write to them to say that I am the driver and that my employer was nothing to do with it. I also appealed the so called fine.... stating my facts... but surprise surprise they have rejected it...... So they have given me the option now of appealing to POPLA or pay up. Is it worth appealing?? I am not going to pay up but wanted to some reassurance that this is the right way to go!
Thanks in advance!

  • Seems like you've done the right thing so far in removing your company from the loop.

Yes, you should appeal to POLA, as it'll cost TPS £27+VAT, safe in the knowledge that you won't be paying, whatever they say. It'll be interestng to know how POPLA handle the very common occurrence of broken ANPR systems, where only first-in and last-out seem to get recorded. Mention in your appeal that their camera systems are clearly broken as they are not working correctly, they need to review it urgently, and they cannot prove you were there for the entire time they said. A further complaint to the DVLA may also be in order, as TPS had no grounds for obtaining your (company's) details.

And if your company has a tracker on the vehicle, mention that in the popla appeal, tell them that logs can be provided for this. If not and you can prove you were elsewhere ie on company business say so under the appeal to popla. If this appeal goes against you by the way you can ignore this as its not binding on you, but it is on the parking company.
