Help with a couple's gift

Any help much appreciated. For various reasons that I won't go into I'm spending xmas with my family about 200miles away and OH is staying here and going to his aunt and uncle's house where his mum/gran etc will be for Christmas Day. He's not been to them before, it was a bit of a last minute arranged thing and we don't normally see them so now need to get them something as a gift/thank you from him. I was just going to get a box of biccies/choccies (I know not very original!) but now OH is saying that uncle has had health problems and aunt has diabetes so they don't really have choccies now. They don't drink much (and I don't know what) so can't really get them a bottle.
Really need ideas and am very aware that don't have much time to find them! Please help x

  • How about a One4All card.
Can be bought at the Post Office and the recipient can choose where they wish to spend it and on what.
As diet is restricted, as you say chocolates / biscuits not a good idea - potted plant to enjoy for a few months or some ready planted hyacinths.

    Happy Christmas
  • You can get them some Diabetic chocolates or toffees from Thorntons. I have them when I am dieting and they are quite nice. If you do go down that route, make sure they or yourselves don't eat too many of them, or may find yourselves being on the toilet for most of the next day :) x

Oh dear, I don't think I dare risk them now :rotfl:

Am trying to avoid vouchers if possible as they are quite well off and we're - er, well not! So aiming for something fairly cheap but that doesn't look it - I may be after the impossible dream, I'm well aware :o
  • Why not a nice plant and volunteer to do all the washing up?
A smile costs little but creates much :)
  • How about one of those cheese board gifts, have seen some nice ones in Tesco and Marks and Spencer.
