Laithwaites

Ordered 12 bottles of wine at just over £7 per bottle. Found out today that the wine has been oversold and will not be coming. I phoned to complain and they asked if I'd like a replacement. I cheekily asked for some at £13-14 a bottle and expected having to pay at least some of the difference.
They recommended some others and said I could either have my £13-14 choice, or a variety of wines of a similar £13-14 price. They asked for no extra money. They apologised profusely for my first choice not being available.
In the past Tescos have delivered broken bottles and I've had to threaten to take them to court just to get my money back for the broken bottle!!
Laithwaites...Thankyou. I'll definitely use you again. Terrific customer service.
It's nice not to whinge about companies ALL the time. When they're good they deserve praise!:D

I so agree. Laithwaites are so good that I don't see the point of buying wine from anyone else.0

I used to work for Laithwaites (in the days that they were Bordeaux Direct and Direct Wines), and the policy then was always that you could return ANY bottle even if you just didn't like it - we would swap it for something else without any fuss. It was a great policy because it encouraged people to try new things, but more often than not the wines were of such good quality that they didn't come back often.0
